The original Loet van der Lee Quartet was founded in 1992 and has performed in various countries around the world. The current quintet consists of Tim Hennekes on drums, Cas Jiskoot on bass, Sebastiaan van Bavel on piano, Daan Kluwer on tenor saxophone, and Loet van der Lee on trumpet and flugelhorn. They recorded the album 'Rode Hert Sessions' in December 2019 at Studio Rode Hert (Roderwolde, Netherlands). In 2021, they presented a second album, 'The Joy of Playing', featuring ten new compositions by the bandleader.
